Claire: By the way, commiserations on your bit of bad luck this morning. It reminds me of this time I handcuffed a prisoner to a door handle. It was in the middle of a raid. It was...people running everywhere, total confusion. When I get back the guy was gone, just this prosthetic arm hanging from the door handle. No prizes that day!
Kerry: What happened to the arm?
Claire: We kept in the CID office. Called it the Finger Of Fate Award. Gave it to the DCI once.

Later, after Tom Proctor was kidnapped and rescued.

Tom arrives in CID to find the "Finger Of Fate Award" handcuffed to his desk.

Tom: Oi, what's this?
Kerry: Special award, mate. Talk to Stanton about it.
Tom: Where's the key?

Clare walks in.

Tom: Sarge?
Claire: We'll discuss it over a drink.

Episode:  Room Service
John and Clare share a romantic moment in a jacuzzi.

Claire: John, my life’s a bit difficult at the moment... What with one thing and another... Sometimes it makes me a bit stressed.
John: Really? I hadn’t noticed at all!
Claire: I just want to say, it won’t always be like this.
John: Good. I’ve just had a thought... I wonder what Meadows would say if he could see us right now..."
They both laugh
John (imitating DCI Meadows): John, Claire, what’re you doing in the jacuzzi?
There's a knock at the door
Claire: Did you invite him along? You can come in, guv!

Episode:  Fake Fur
John and Clare go to a burger bar to meet a possible snout.

John: Claire, will you marry me?
*Pause*
Claire: What?
John: I asked you to marry me.
Claire: You’re not joking, are you? *pause* Isn’t this a bit sudden?
John: It hasn’t been for me. It’s all I’ve been able to think about for the last few weeks ever since we last split up.
Claire: I don’t know what to say.
John: Say anything you want. Just don’t say ‘no’.
Claire: John you’re crazy... Why d’you want to get married?
John: Because I love you.

Episode:  Find The Lady
Clare goes round to John's flat with a bottle of wine as a piece offering.

John: Yeah, so am I.
Claire: You know I love you, John...
John: No I didn’t... Do you trust me?
Claire: If you mean Lynette...
John: No I don’t. Do you trust me? Yes or no.
Claire: Yes.

Episode:  Fifty Fifty
Don Beech cuts a deal with Superintendant Hodges, against Clare's wishes, who is ordered to leave the room.

Claire kicks Don's chair out from under him, and then kicks him several times.
Claire: It’s what John would’ve wanted!

Episode:  All Fall Down Part 2
After Don Beech has left the country Clare goes to visit John's grave.

Claire: I'm going to get him, John, I promise.
